Here are some good solid parenting tips...

1.  Always discipline your child in a calm yet assertive voice.
2.  Encourage your child to participate in sports, clubs, music, or other positive activities but don't push them into it.  Let your child choose what he or she is interested in.
3.  Teach and encourage positive character traits to help develop morals and values.
4.  Be a positive rrole-model.
5.  Use familiy meetings to bring structure to the household routines.
6.  Catch your child being good and acknowledge the positive behavior.

...and so on...

Got any more bits of parenting wisdom?

Let natural consequences provide the corrections, when needed, not mom and dad so much.

Teach your children as many life skills as possible, as early as possible (laundry, cooking, checkbook balancing, etc.)

Be very empathetic but have rock solid boundaries.

Teach your child about spiritual things- there is more to life than self-centered reflection.

Letting your children know that you will stand by them but never make excuses for their behaviors that were not acceptable.
