I'm not seeking any advice, but I wanted to share an unusual behavior that I have observed...

I used to work at a psychiatric hospital for children and there was one child there who would make his nose bleed, intentionally, by tapping it in just the right place when he was angry.  His nose would start to bleed profusely!  He would lose a lot of blood then wipe it on the walls of the quiet room (later known as the "seclusion room" to be more politically correct).

I remember a nurse and I having to cover ourselves from head to toe in protective garb so that we could go in and physically restrain him to prevent him from bleeding any more.  The room looked like a slaughter house.  I've never seen that much blood before in one place!  Talk about a nightmare child!

This child would threaten to make his nose bleed any time he was asked to do something that he didn't want to.  We never let that stop us from setting and enforcing the limits though.

Anyone else have any unusual behaviors that they've witnessed?

I have a good friend who used to work in a juvenile detention center and she would tell me stories about kids doing things most people couldn't imagine. For example, residents would deficate and urinate in their rooms. I was just hired as a juvenile corrections officer, so I will have plenty of stories to tell!  Shocked

my mother use to work as a kingergarden teacher in a fairly rough neigborhood so she would tell me some pretty crazy stories. One kid would give her the finger and another would threaten to urinate on the walls
